Pakistani army officers and soldiers asked to join Taliban group
A Pakistani military doctor has called on army officers and soldiers to join the Taliban group in a bid to help the ehe enforcement of shariah and Islamic system in the country.
The call was made through a video messsage released by Jamaat-ul-Ahrar (JA) which is a splinter group fo proscribed Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Pakistan’s Dawn News reported.
The military doctor introduces himself as Capt Dr. Tariq Ali, having graduated from Army Medical College and did general surgical training in London and Cambridge.
He claims to have served with the Pakistani military for nearly seven years and left the army nine years ago before migrating to London.
“Allah blessed me with the passion of Jihad. I left Britain with an intention to go to Iraq and join Islamic State, but I was arrested on the way and sent to prison in Croatia,” he said.
Dr. Tariq was deported to Pakistan and initially he faced some difficulties in the beginning. Later he joined JA. “May be it was the will of Allah that I should join the Mujahideen of Khorasan instead of Iraq and Syria,” he said.
